Vanessa Hudgens looked pretty in pink as she attended the 2011 Hurley Walk the Walk National Championship at the U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA today (August 4).
Joined by the likes of bikini model Marisa Miller, the 22-year-old actress was on hand to host the event, which is the world’s largest high school fashion competition. Vanessa was an honorary judge alongside 90210 star Tristan Wilds.
Schools from around the state will compete for the $25,000 grand prize.
Meanwhile, Vanessa recently opened up about her newly chopped ‘do.
The screen starlet told Access Hollywood that she wasn’t a fan of her movie look.
She said: “Honestly, I kind of feel like a soccer mom, but we’re going to let that go. There’s nothing wrong with soccer moms, but I’m only 22! I miss my hair, believe me, I do, but there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Gimme Shelter, which will be released next year, sees Vanessa take a more gritty direction than her High School Musical fans are used to.
The film sees Vanessa play a pregnant teenager who seeks out her biological father after leaving her abusive mother’s home. However, her father is upset about her pregnancy and urges his daughter to have an abortion. When she refuses, he kicks her out and she is forced to live on the streets.
Gimme Shelter also stars Brendan Fraser and Rosario Dawson.
