‘On The Spot’ – Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Hutcherson hosted the ‘Journey 2′ premiere in Sydney

Following the ‘Journey 2′ world premiere in Melbourne last Sunday January 14, the promotional tour for the film continued in Sydney last Tuesday, January 17 at Event Cinemas George street, where 2 of the hottest stars of the planet, Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Hutcherson walked the red carpet.
Fans arrived early in the morning that day to get the best spots in order to get close to their favourite stars, many of them with big handmade signs, especially for Josh, who for many of them, as they told us might be the new Robert Pattinson.

On The Spot - Spotlight Report with Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Hutcherson
Close to 6 pm the cinema was a full house, and it was impossible for the organizers to fit more people, and security was running from one side to the other holding the barricades to avoid accidents due to euphoria. 6pm sharp and the door of the lift of the cinema opened and in come the gorgeous Vanessa Hudgens wearing an orange dress hit the red carpet, followed forJosh Hutcherson in formal clothe. Both of them were rushed inside the actual red carpet by security to avoid chaos near the lift.
Once in the red carpet in a very clever move, the stars did all the publicity wall shots immediately, in order to be free for their fans and the media alongside. Then both stars got close to the crowd (mostly screaming teenagers), happily taking pictures and signing autographs for as many people as possible.
After that Vanessa and Josh started getting into their first round of interviews, and in a clever move, one was answering questions while the other was allowed to go meet and greet the fans to keep the situation under control.
We had the chance to speak to both of them and we must say, they were extremely friendly and talkative with us. The first one to chat with us was Vanessa Hudgens, who plays the role of Kailani  in the film:
SR. Hi Vanessa, welcome back to Sydney…How was for you to be on the same film with an action hero like “The Rock” and with a Hollywood legend like Michael Caine in the same film?
VH. It was amazing! It’s such an amazing cast…you put us all together and we all have such a different background and experiences that make us share some very interesting moments on the film. Michael, was very helpful and Dwayne was really nice with us in every moment…was great!
SR. After High School you jumped to Sucker Punch, which has tons of special effects and now to Journey 2 a film full of special effects using blue/green screen most of the time. As an actress how hard was this transition for you?
VH. Well Sucker Punch has as many effects as Journey, I think and as an actor you must have so much imagination while filming and understand perfectly what the director wants. For example in the film we have to escape from a huge lizard and we are in front of this big screen with nothing and we have to try to make all as realistic as possible. I think is similar to what you do while on location for this kind of movies, because we shoot in Hawaii and you have to imagine situations or creatures that you know are not there…Is really fun!

SR. What is next for you?
VH. I`m about to shoot a movie called ‘Spring Breakers’ with Selena Gomez, a story of how this four college girls from a small town go to Spring Break and gets into a very complicated situation around during their trip…I`m really looking forward to start shooting.

Almost immediately after Vanessa, we chat with Josh Hutcherson, who reprise his role as Sean Anderson in the film and who will also be playing the role of Peeta Mellark in the upcoming blockbuster hit ‘The Hunger Games’, and obviously we asked something about that as well.
SR. Hi mate, great to meet you! Now to start off with, we wanna ask you the same question we asked to Vanessa. As a young actor how was the experience of doing a film with an action hero like “The Rock” and a cinema royalty like Michael Caine?
JH. Hi guys…it was great…! The Rock is so big, but at the same time he such an amazing guy, obviously is not the kind of guy you wanna punch in the face ha ha ha ha…but he is great and we share incredible moments while filming, he made us laugh a lot and you will see on the film why.
Michael, is just a guy that you always dreamed to see performing in front of you, he is incredible and funny as well, he plays my grandpa in the film and I felt he was a grandpa for me while filming as well. He is fantastic!
SR. What would you say was the most challenging part of the movie?…we imagine with so many special effects it is very demanding for you guys
JHYeah, everything is always changing in every scene and you shoot in different orders all the time…in one scene we are escaping from a huge lizard and in another we are underwater swimming in between all these amazing creatures, so it is your imagination which must work 200% there, because all that pretty much goes in post-production and we are in front of a blue screen most of the time. Is a very cool thing to do to be honest, especially when you see the finished scenes with all the effects around , and you just cannot believe how realistic and amazing the final product is.

SR. Moving to the questions we must ask you: ‘The Hunger Games’. What can you tell us about that experience…Have you seen the film already?
JH. The The Hunger Games experience was amazing!, I`m a big fan of the book so being part of the film is just a dream, the cast is fantastic and Gary Ross is a great director.
I haven`t seen the entire film yet to be honest, just some scenes around and they look great…I have no doubt, all of us and the public will love the results.
SR. Your favourite scene of ‘The Hunger Games’?
JH. In the book, my favorite part is the one in the cave with me and Katniss, so I`m really looking forward to see the final cut of that on-screen.

SR. Hunger Games world tour with Australia included?
JH. Oh yeah! All of us hope to be here for that!
