'The Rock' shows love for Pinoys

'The Rock' calls Pacquiao the 'greatest fighter'
MANILA, Philippines – Hollywood actor and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson expressed his love for Filipinos at the press junket for the film “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.”
In the film, Johnson co-stars with American actress Vanessa Hudgens, who has Filipino blood.
“[Vanessa] was a pleasure to work with she's great. I met her family, her mom is wonderful, proud Filipino woman,” Johnson said.
Johnson also tipped his hat to boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.
The WWE superstar is admittedly an ardent fan of Pacquiao, whom he called as boxing's pound-for-pound “greatest fighter.”
“The Rock” said Filipinos' humility stands out.
“The best thing I love about [Pacquiao] and Vanessa, Vanessa's family, [and the] Filipino culture…and I’ve worked and performed in the Philippines many times…is the humility that permeates the Filipino culture,” he said.
The film “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” recently premiered in Taipei, Taiwan and will show in Philippine theaters by February.
Johnson said his fans should watch out for a “special” scene that is shot in 3-D technology.
“There’s a special scene by the way called the ‘pec pop of love,’ that's the scene they got to watch out for. Popping my pecs up and down to get the attention of a woman and on top of that he's throwing berries to my chest and the berries are bouncing off my chest to the audience in magnificent 3-D,” the wrestler-turned-actor said.
